We don't plan on playing the role of at-large editorial ombudsman for the Wimberley View – that would keep us way too busy. But somebody needs to call it to the readers' attention when the paper prints REALLY BIG bloopers – like the banner headline in today's (Sept. 1) edition announcing that early voting starts Sept. 18 for the city council Place 2 election.

Actually, ELECTION DAY is on Saturday, Sept. 18. EARLY VOTING starts TODAY, Wednesday, Sept. 1, 8 am to 5 pm, at the Community Center.

Voters should check the city's website for a complete list of early voting days and times.

As it is, there's plenty of hot wind blowing around in this election. The voters certainly don't need any more confusion added by erroneous headlines and misinformation. Mistakes happen, but boo-boos of this size have become a trademark of the View.

Please guys, find yourselves a decent copy editor. The paying readers, citizens, voters, candidates and advertisers deserve a much better community newspaper product than what they are being served.

I get more real news and commentary on this Blog that I ever got from the View, and Save 75 cents to boot.

Ditto. I drove to the community center today and there was not a soul around. It is usually busy on the opening day of early voting. What's up with that?

91 voters today and very much in keeping with the typical first day of voting total.

I hear more real news about my community at Brookshire Brothers than I ever get from the view.

If the paper was served in a restaurant people would send it back and ask for a refund. The advertising is expensive and the product is poorly prepared. Except for the front page there is not much to read. And now we know you can't believe every thing on the front page. They should add a page of funnies for a laugh at least.
