Texas calls for help as wildfires worsen

Perry and other Republican lawmakers have recently argued that federal disaster relief — such as aid for states hit by tornadoes and hurricanes — must be offset by federal spending cuts, but they have yet to make that argument in fire-ravaged Texas

Reporting from Bastrop, Texas, and Los Angeles
— Out-of-control wildfires — among the worst in state history — leaped across Texas' parched midsection, destroying 1,000 homes and killing four as firefighters called for more resources and the governor, a Republican presidential hopeful who's made his mark blasting federal spending, asked Washington for help.

Winds were expected to abate, but only slightly, and the dry conditions will persist for days.

Gov. Rick Perry complained about the slow pace of assistance from Washington and Ft. Hood as Federal Emergency Management Agency officials arrived in Bastrop, where 600 houses were burned, to survey fire damage.

This is how the neoRepublican Party corporate welfare economic system works.

Their politicians and their pollution-riddled and public health hazard corporate masters take credit for everything when things go well but they want to get their butts bailed out when things go bad.

"Privatize the profits, socialize the losses."

And if you don't understand what that means, let me clarify:

The so-called political elite (such as Perry and others like him) and their specific corporate masters get all the credit and almost all of the profits and wealth when everything is rosy, but they want and make all taxpayers (with federal government tax revenue) foot the bill for their losses when they are hit by natural disasters, screw up, or engage in criminal behavior (oil spills, poisoning rivers, corporate criminal behavior resulting in massive investment losses that affect middle class retirement plans, and on and on).

Perry is an almost perfect example of the consummate political hustler - albeit a cleverly manipulative hustler.

He threatens to separate from the Union when he is on the manic side of his bipolar life but is now groveling for federal money now that he and his constituents are on the depression side of their bipolar hustle.

I just hope those Texans who have been sadly and painfully affected by these awful fires will understand that Perry the Fraud (and his incompetent herd in the State Legislature) wanted to cut the budgets of related emergency services even more - though everyone knew we were in a drought and that summer was coming and that fire danger was increasing daily.

These fires are a good example of how Perry and his ilk in State government are not public servants. They are public nuisances.

God help Texas and America if the American people are scared and desparate enough to elect Perry into the White House.

Just to make sure that the truth gets out, the Democratic Bastrop County Judge, Ronnie McDonald formally asked Governor Perry to ask FEMA for help. This is not a matter of Governor Perry requesting all the help on his own. Keep in mind that some volunteers have been sent home, since the authorities (e.g. the County Judge) had not formally requested assistance from other local communities, and could not be formally 'activated', so volunteers from Corpus Christi and Brownsville were turned away.http://www.naturalnews.com/033517_Texas_wildfires.html

Let us see if the authorities change their mind on requesting volunteers and 'formally' activating them.

Just to set the record straight, Gov. Good Hair has been repeatedly two faced about accepting federal money/aid

Well sure, Judge McDonald couldn't ask the Secession Governor for STATE aide because the Texas Forest Service budget got its head lopped off by Perry and the Republican legislature. When the going gets tough in Texas, there's no where to turn to but the federal teat or the local tax payers. A fine cluster-mess of a miracle Perry has created.

Help me to understand the logic of a governor who talks about Texas seceeding from the Union and then turns to that same Federal government for assistance. What's wrong Perry? What a disgusting hypocrit!
