- The RoundUp was launched in March of 2008 because the newspapers here are, shall we say, a little too deferential to the local elected officials and politicians. They (the papers) are in survival mode. They can't afford to rock the boat. Many of our public officials are getting a free ride off the taxpayers as well as a free ride from the press. What a deal they have! The RoundUp stepped into the gap with hopes of providing a small measure of balance to this lopsided picture. Our aim is to deliver good solid reporting and commentary that you will not find in the local newspapers. Editor Ochoa is an award-winning journalist with 18 years of newspaper reporting experience under his hat and 8 more as a high school journalism and photography teacher. May everyone's Holiday season be filled with joy and love for ALL people, not just the ones low on compassion who - because of their own internal demons - hate the following:
Taxes, government, liberals, public education, intellectuals, do gooders, minorities, foreigners, Muslims, Jews, atheists, agnostics, socialists, communists, communitarians, union members, teachers, Keynesians, anti-american nationalists, Californians, Europeans, Hollywoodites, and all those other people categories that get the flak from the great uneducated.
And Happy New Year as well.
