Here's a post where you can comment totally off topic to your heart's delight.

From commenter Rocky Boschert: On Thursday evening Visa and Mastercard have now agreed to waive their transaction fees as well for credit card paid donations to Haitian earthquake relief.

From commenter Left the Right Behind:
Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show to NOT send money to Haiti for disaster relief. He said not to do it because the Haiti relief effort would only benefit President Obama and his "light skinned and dark-skinned" Black constituents.

Almost all the credit card companies charge a minimum 3% transaction fee even for charitable donations paid with credit cards. Unfortunately the Haiti earthquake disaster is no exception. The card companies end up making millions of dollars every year from charitable contributions and will make even more this year off the millions of dollars being donated to the Haitian earthquake disaster relief.

On a positive note, the Capital One credit card is the one company I am aware of that generally waives their transaction fees when their card is used for charitable contributions. Also, as of today, American Express has agreed to rebate to 65 charities all credit card transaction fees as a result of all donations made between January 12 and the end of February. This rebate applies to all 65 charitable organizations listed on their company website.

Finally, sans Capital One and AMEX, I strongly recommend a mass consumer calling effort to your credit card bank directly asking them if they are going to waive or rebate their transaction fees if you use their card to donate to the Haitian relief effort. If thousands of credit card holders call their credit card companies demanding their own corporate charity through fee waivers or rebates, it could work very well to help greatly with a truly catastrophic disaster in Haiti.

And thank you "Hanlon" for listing three of the great charities that will be very active in the Haitian earthquake relief.

On Thursday evening Visa and Mastercard have now agreed to waive their transaction fees as well for credit card paid donations to Haitian earthquake relief.

Additionally, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile have agreed to waive their text messaging fees when Haitian earthquake relief donations are sent thruugh texting. Oddly, Sprint has said they will continue charging texting fees for Haiti donations.

Thanks again for your generosity. And a special thanks to Bob Ochoa for his willingness to post this information on the blog.

Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show to NOT send money to Haiti for disaster relief. He said not to do it because the Haiti relief effort would only benefit President Obama and his "light skinned and dark-skinned" Black constituents.

And once again, popular "Christian" televangelist Pat Robertson, who has a show in the morning on Austin network TV, said the Haiti earthquake was a result of the sin and evil that exists in Haiti, a country where over 85% of the people are Roman Catholic.

I love to see such deep compassion and intelligence from well-known spokespeople for the religious right.

‘Left the Right Behind’ Rush Limbaugh said no such thing. You, sir are a liar! You probably got that from a far left site or simply made it up. I myself, wouldn’t send a dime to that worthless country, they don’t deserve any help. Read the history of Haiti and you will see why. The made a pact with the devil to make the French leave the island. They burned animal sacrifices on the altar of the Catholic Church. Obama will use this disaster to try and pump up his sagging numbers but it won’t work. Neither will your lies!

Wow, the void of compassion and anger-filled heart of Anonymous is very sad. Clearly the writer is in a lot of personal pain, expressing it in his vengeful words.

Ironically, what the Anonymous writer said about Obama using Haiti as a political tool is exactly what Left the Right Behind claimed Rush Limbaugh said about Obama. I now believe Limbaugh did make that nutty statement.

I pray for you, Mr. Anonymous. You are desperately in need of love and compassion, just like the people of Haiti. Whatever your religion, I recommend you ask your God for forgiveness.

The Anonymous Russ Limbaugh lover above who calls me a liar ought to check his facts before defending his racist guru. The reader simply needs to cut and paste the link below:

http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201001130018

and listen to the audio of the show the hateful Limbaugh did on January 13 that in fact confirms my quote.

Of course, Anonymous is probably into such sad denial he will claim it is a doctored audio clip or that MediaMatters is some lefty conspiracy group. Your, Sir, are lying to yourself.

For more racist quotes by Russ Limbaugh go to:

Laugh or cry, it is your choice.

LRB, The part that was a lie was when you wrote, “Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show to NOT send money to Haiti for disaster relief.” I listen to Rush nearly every day and he has warned that some leftist website was spreading this lie.

Have you got a clip of that to backup your claim?

BTW, I enjoyed the 10 quotes and don’t see anything wrong with them. The freedom of speech clause is still in the Constitution, last I checked. God Bless America! Dittos!

Left the Right Behind said...

Anonymous Rush Defender is correct in that Limbaugh did not directly say “to NOT send money to Haiti for disaster relief." I stand corrected.

However, to call it a "lie" is also a misrepresentation. Limbaugh in fact stated that Obama is glad that the Haiti earthquake occurred for political purposes and that Americans already sent money to Haiti before the earthquake, implying that sending more money to Haiti was unnecessary and wasteful.

However, my quote about not giving donations was specifically inaccurate; and Anonymous was correct to correct me.

And yes, freedom of speech for a raging and heartless racist who appeals to similar ilk is better than no freedom of speech. That we can agree on.
