County Judge Sumter leads comprehensive plan for Hays

Members of the Hays County Strategic Policy Plan Steering Committee met Friday May 15 with more than 40 locally elected and appointed officials to kick off a countywide strategic planning process. The "Leadership Charette," as the gathering was called, was held at the Wimberley Community Center. County Judge Liz Sumter, second from left, has made it a top priority to complete a comprehensive planning guide for better coordination among governmental entities and more efficient use of taxpayer dollars. One participant remarked, "We should have done this a long time ago." The steering committee members will be assisting in a summer long process of information gathering, stakeholder meetings, and a final plan roll out in early September.
