The (U.S.) Supreme Court Friday night blocked a redistricting plan for Texas drawn by a panel of federal judges, putting the justices in the middle of a partisan battle over how the state’s electoral maps should change to recognize the state’s burgeoning minority population.

Texas had objected to the judicially drawn maps, which analysts said would increase chances for Democrats and minorities, and favored maps drawn by the Republican-dominated legislature. Attorney General Greg Abbott (R) requested the Supreme Court’s intervention; the justices will hear arguments Jan. 9.

Candidates already have begun to register to run under the districts drawn by the panel of federal judges in San Antonio, and it appears likely the state’s March primaries now will be delayed.

This is the same US Supreme Court that thinks corporations are people?

Who cares what they think, other then being deeply worried that they have the power to turn our country into a corporate totalitarian state.

Like half of the right wing governors around the US, they want to suppress the voting rights of minorities, college students, and educated senior citizens - the same group who shunned senile John McCain and the Bimbo and would never vote for any of the circus performers currently running for the Republican Prez nomination.

Buddy Roemer, Gary Johnson or Ron Paul are the ONLY Republicans of the batch who should even be considered for the Republican Party nomination.

Dust of your guns, nutty right wingers; you will have your chance to defend yourself against the government - the government you will eventually elect into office.

Believe it! That's how crazy you people have become.
