State officials fix tests of unsafe radioactive Radon in drinking water

Here's an update on a story that has been brewing for a while now, from KHOU TV in Houston. Do you know what's in your water?

When public officials violate the law, are they immune from prosecution?

This unsafe water cover-up is just the tip of the iceberg.

As I wrote in a recent Roundup article, the neo-right wing politician excuse to trash government regulations - disguised as "protecting job creation" - will create more and more public health problems that directly harm average Americans and their children.

Only the politically blind cannot see that the government regulators are owned and controlled by corporate polluters and profit-obsessed water companies.

And it will only get worse as long as well-meaning conservatives stop believing the lies that EPA and other already diminished regulators are the cause of our economic problems.

What will it take? Large numbers of children getting seriously sick?

KHOU-TV, the National Inquirer of the TV Networks! This has been hashed and rehashed and the EPA levels are like most of their agenda driven threshold standards way to low.

About 10 to 15 years ago it was Radon gas seeping into your house through the foundation. This set lose a bunch of snake oil salesmen to prey on confused home owners with all kinds of ventilation equipment.

Ask some of the Radon hippies how you are supposed to get rid of radon in the water. It is a naturally occurring gas from the decay of radioactive minerals in the soil. It has been there for eons and no one seems to be hurting.

EPA is another name for Chicken Little. This just another opportunity to slam Rick Perry.

Whether or not this is just another Perry slam, it underscores the mindset of Perry and his crony capitalist friends in charge of TCEQ. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. I wouldn't be surprised if Perry has made sure his taxpayer paid palace digs is Radon safe. Screw everybody else. I would not trust my kids or my own safety and future with Perry in the White House. America needs to wake up to the many Perils of Perry.

No chicken, another chance to slam Perry would be the story in yesterday's Austin paper about the outsourcing, w/o bid, of disaster relief money to a Perry crony.

Why not ask Sherri Tibbe whether she will prosecute former HTGCD director David Baker for i) failing to abstain from voting on the WSP permit, and ii) failing to file a disclosure affidavit with the district identifying his financial interest in WVWA?

WVWA filed suit in district court claiming it was particularly harmed by the approval of the permit. If you believe this group of ne'er-do-wells, then David Baker committed two criminal offenses when he failed to file a disclosure affidavit and failed to abstain from voting.
(see Local Government Code §192.004)

So Charles, perhaps you should ask whether the county is going to prosecute Baker and whether they are going to continue giving his group taxpayer money to continue their questionable operations.

"Why not ask Sherri Tibbe whether she will prosecute..."

Tibbe won't prosecute any of the protected in Hays County.

Any clue as to who are protected?

Given that Conley needs the Jacob's Well and Blue Hole folks and has given a pile of public money to their projects...why would you believe Tibbe would prosecute?

I don't think our elected representatives give two hooters about the public health, that includes Isaac and Wentworth. What are they doing up there in the Legislature?? Anything that gets in the way of more growth/development is swept under the carpet. Great State of Texas my arse. Not these days anymore.

270 electoral votes are needed to win the presidency. At the moment,
www.race42012.com has Obama at 247 votes, and GOP Challenger at 191 votes. 100 votes are toss up.
