Johnson City – Pedernales Electric’s Board will meet Monday, Nov. 10, to discuss the Cooperative’s ongoing wholesale power contract negotiations with the Lower Colorado River Authority. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at PEC’s Johnson City headquarters at 201 S. Avenue F, and a map to the venue is available at PEC's web site.

“There has been significant work and effort by both parties to structure a contract that is fair to PEC, fair to LCRA and most importantly, in the best interest of PEC members,” commented PEC Deputy General Manager Paul Hilgers. “On Monday we want to share the progress, direction and overriding measures of the proposed contract with our members.” LCRA already is contracted to provide electricity to PEC through 2016.

Hilgers is scheduled to open the meeting by giving a public report that outlines the proposed new contract. After taking member input, the Board will enter executive session to examine legalities and other specifics related to the contract, which is expected to be approved as soon as PEC’s Nov. 17 Board meeting.

The agenda for the meeting is posted on the Pedernales Electric web site. Members interested in addressing the Board at the meeting should call PEC toll-free at 1-888-554-4732 to be placed on the schedule. Speakers are each allotted three minutes to give their input.
